The Elder Futhark is the oldest runic alphabet, used across Northern Europe from roughly the 2nd to 8th centuries. Its 24 runes are grouped into three ættir (families) of eight, and they always run in a fixed order — the order this puzzle asks you to rebuild. Hover a stave for a quick reading.
